This is more like a late night place for high schoolers. The Boba quality is only OK and the shaved ice quality is not that great but it does the job since there's really nothing that great around this area anyways. The fruit freezes, which is basically a smoothie, it's pretty fresh though. The jasmine milk tea and taro milk tea is average but tasty.
I had the pleasure of visiting this boba shop recently, and despite the initially daunting line, the wait time was surprisingly short, clocking in at around 15 minutes. What impressed me most was the efficiency of the staff; they were clearly well-staffed and managed to keep the line moving smoothly, even with a large crowd of high school students. While the boba itself wasn't the most extraordinary I've ever tasted, the drinks were certainly satisfying. They struck a good balance between flavor and sweetness, making them enjoyable treats. What's interesting is that I've been here before during quieter periods, and while the shop was relatively empty, the service speed remained consistent, which speaks to their commitment to efficiency. Overall, despite the initial wait and the boba being just above average, I would still be inclined to come back. The overall experience was pleasant enough, and knowing that the service is reliable makes it worth another visit.
This place was great!!! We decided to leave the city before rush hour. Stumbled upon this place! Place was empty and we were quickly greeted! I asked questions about coffee options. I ended up getting the white chocolate mocha with coffee jelly!! YUM!! There is plenty of seating and two couches!
My husband and I came here to satisfy our late-night boba cravings, and we were pleasantly surprised by how late Liquid Fusion stays open. Another plus was the huge parking lot with tons of space. We got a mango fruit freeze and an avocado fruit freeze. The name "fruit freeze" can be a bit misleading because you might think the drinks will be icy, but ours was blended smoothly, which we prefer. I believe they used real fruit in the drinks, and the boba was bouncy. Service was standard. The cashier just did his job, nothing extra. The atmosphere was very lively but felt crowded. All the seats inside were filled, and there was a long line at 10pm on a Wednesday night. The way the line is set up, people get squeezed between tables and the counter space. It can be uncomfortable.
Stopped in as my son lives everything boba. It's wheelchair accessible. Open seating. I went with the strawberry, peach raspberry freeze with strawberry pop bubble and it was so fresh and refreshing. Loved the pops! Just the right amount of sweetness. My son got a tropical type freeze with boba. He downed it! And loved it. Will def be trying again!
Plenty of parking, fast service, and good variety on their menu. Most importantly, their tapioca boba was satisfyingly bouncy and a good sweetness. Prices weren't outrageous (I don't want to pay $8 for bubble tea before tax and tip -_-").
So we have been coming here for over a decade, started when we were in high school-- in fact, we used to trek all the way down to Glenview for the original store! This place has been the go-to place for my generation of Asian Americans. We also have seen it renovated and changed throughout the years. The wifi and password never changed and that the "smile, you are on camera" has stayed the same also. Their menu expanded a whole lot throughout the years. Some of my favorites had been Java chip with mocha, taro bubbletea (the only other place in the northern suburbs with it besides Joy Yee's in Chinatown, back in the days), and mixed fruit freezes. It's been over two years since I last got Liquid Fusion due to the pandemic, so I went with the default taro bubbletea and tapioca (can't go wrong) and a freeze for my husband and kids. Taro bubbletea with tapioca -- rich, deep purple color and taro flavor, although maybe I'm just not used to the strong taro flavor anymore, it is recognizably from milktea powders (I could be wrong). Tapioca has a caramelized toasted flavor to it and chewy but not hard. Fruit freeze with papaya, lychee, and coconut with lychee jelly-- this is a really good combo because all the fruits have faint and light fragrance so it's not super overpowering like mango or honeydew. I typically like to mix lighter flavors together, otherwise I just get mango or honeydew by itself. This blend was perfect. The lychee jelly really elevates the lychee flavor. I might replace papaya or lychee with peach next time to change things up. The papaya does give it a nice soft orange color though. Happy drinking!
Came in here for a quick boba drink fix. Loved all the flavors they offered. We had the Taro, Thai Tea, and Green Tea Latte and each one tasted so fresh. We add the jelly's to each of the drinks and it was great. The service is fast and they have a cute seating area. Do check out this place for crazy good boba drinks. Drinks are delicious and not overly sweet.
